TEDxCapeTown 2016

Robyn White is a lecturer at the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (CAAC) at the University of Pretoria. She has recently been chosen as a Fellow for the Tuks Young Research Leader Programme for 2016/2017, at the University of Pretoria. Robyn has been accepted to do her PhD focused on the investigatory procedure disabled citizens have to deal with, within the criminal justice system of South Africa. Her passion started when she was volunteering at a special needs school at the age of 16.

What is TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCapeTown, where x = independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxCapeTown event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
