Freia joined TedxCapeTown in May 2021. She loves all things creative and could spend hours every day of just making and creating beautiful things. Having a BA in Jewelry and Object Design, she followed her passion and made it her job next to social media communications.
Originally being from Germany, she loves not just exploring all the amazing beaches and hidden treasures in South Africa but also trying out all the different craft beers that South Africa has to offer. One of her favourite TED talks are: “Inside the mind of a master procrastinator.”

What is TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCapeTown, where x = independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxCapeTown event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
