Mokena Makeka is an architect who founded, and is creative director and MD, of Makeka Design Lab. A graduate of the UCT School of Architecture who, according to Design Indaba 2010 (where he recently spoke), is passionate about creating a sound African aesthetic that serves the public and client, bringing dignity and grace to the built environment. He sits on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Design, is an external examiner at the Columbia University School of architecture and lectures at the University of Cape Town. He spoke at TEDxMfuleni 2011.
