
Qaqamba Sibayi is a student at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Kapstadt. She has applied to speak at TEDxYouth@CapeTown in the hopes that it will give her a voice to potentially move one person towards healing.
In response to our question about who and what inspires her, Qaqamba answered, “The human spirit and resilience of South Africans inspire me. Everyday, despite our past and struggles we still persist.”

What do you hope to gain from the experience of being a TEDx speaker?
I hope to gain the experience and platform of speaking.
The talk is only a few weeks away, how are you feeling about it?
I am feeling an equal amount of nerves and excitement.
If you had a superpower what would it be?
Teleportation.
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
An elephant, because elephants are said to be reincarnations of human souls.
If you could time travel, where would you go?
Mongol Empire in 1162.
Which fictional character do you wish you could meet?
Storm (Ororo Munroe).
If you could sing a duet with anyone, who would it be?
Jacob Banks. That voice is like smooth caramel on toast.
