Caitlyn is constantly on the lookout for new ways to improve personally and intellectually, and believes that “in order to create the life you want to live, you have to take ownership of it”.
She’s an advocate for ‘journeying inwards’ and first applied to be a [email protected] speaker to get out of her comfort zone and try something she’d never done before. Since then, Caitlyn has set her sights on helping others achieve their own goals on their path to self-discovery and is working towards becoming an accredited life coach.
We asked Caitlyn a few questions…
Tell us more about why you believe personal evolution, trying new things, and carving new paths is important?
I think that personal evolution is one of the most important aspects of one's life because, in order to create the life you want to live, you have to take ownership of it. Taking ownership of your life requires you to try new things. To 'plant seeds' in different areas of your life so that opportunities can grow, and so that you can grow. This is essentially how you carve new paths for yourself.
What has being in lockdown taught you about yourself?
I have learned that I am not a very patient person when it comes to thinking about the future and what I want to achieve and succeed in. When I want something, or when I want to be something/someone- I almost can't wait to get there. It’s amazing how you never stop learning about yourself.
What do you hope to gain from this experience?
I aim to give the virtual audience a chance to alter their perception of how they view change, the change that happens around them, and within them. Perception is everything. For myself, I aim to once again show myself that I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for. Even though I am relatively comfortable speaking in front of people, I am still out of my comfort zone when I do, but there’s no place I’d rather be.
What key message or inspirational quote would you like to share with our virtual event audience?
A friend once told me that life can get really crazy, messy, and busy. It can be full of chaos. The key is to remain grounded and at peace within yourself, because once you're at peace within- the chaos will just fall around you. You will not be affected.
