Synty joined TEDXCapeTown in January 2020, just after she graduated with a BBA in Tourism Management. Being an adventure seeker, Synty decided to embark on a new journey by accepting a job offer in Cape Town as a Dutch technical support in claims administration. Synty is originally from the beautiful island called Curaçao, so you are bound to find this island girl at the beach at any given moment in her free time. She also loves the thrill of discovering new hotspots, cultures and countries. Synty is deeply passionate about using her experiences/skills to empower and inspire and the people around her. The TED Talk by Celeste Headlee called 'Don't find a job, find a mission' describes the essence and driver of Synty's motives.

What is TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCapeTown, where x = independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxCapeTown event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
