Fatimah Boltman

I am a communication practitioner for a government programme, supporting awareness raising, capacity building and knowledge sharing activities. For the past 6 years, I‘ve been fortunate to work in the green industries space, coordinating events promoting sustainable solutions for manufacturing and related industries – work that I love – through expos, conferences, workshops and training courses. I’m an eternal student doing a few short courses a year, and currently completing my BA Communication Science degree with UNISA. I love MOOCs – massively open online courses, and of course TED Talks. I have a National Diploma from Cape Technikon (now CPUT), have completed many short courses including project administration, events management, social media, climate change mitigation and sustainable cities. I’m not done learning – there’s still so much to know about the world we live in. I’m passionate about the environment. Love reading, favourite genre for movies and fiction is sci-fi and fantasy - reimagining what the world could be. Simon's Sinek, Start with why - how great leaders inspire action.There’s a lot of movational talks on leadership, management, etc. His talk reminds me to go back to basics. To find out our Why? Why do we do what we do. Why should other people care. Simple message suitable for all situations.
