Tavonga Clarah Chauke is a student at the South African Law School. She applied to be a TEDxYouth@CapeTown speaker because of her passion for the development of Millennials, especially in Africa. “I want to share my personal life experiences in this journey of understanding what being an African Feminist means,” she says.
Tavonga is inspired by a young feminist named Farai Mubaiwa who she says, “is the real definition of a mogul. She is also passionate about the growth and development of young black women.”

What do you hope to gain from the experience of being a TEDx speaker?
To gain more knowledge on the subjects and topics that other young people will speak about.
And from my own talk I would love to enhance my passion for the development of African Millennials as well as my public speaking skills.
The talk is only a few weeks away, how are you feeling about it?
I'm very excited and nervous.
If you had a superpower what would it be?

If you could time travel, where would you go?
Back to the roaring twenties. The time when women started acknowledging their superpowers and their capabilities.
Which fictional character do you wish you could meet?
