The Thetha Foundation (2018/ 544944/08) was registered in 2018 to manage the financial affairs of TEDxCapeTown. The founding directors are Chileshe Chanda, Justin Beswick and Ronell Swartbooi.
The Thetha Foundation is a non-profit organisation in Cape Town, South Africa and was borne of the combined knowledge, skills, and experience from leaders of the TEDxCapeTown team who noticed the power that effective communication and storytelling have.
Thanks to their many years of public speaking, coaching, and mentoring experience and their large-scale event management know-how, they were able to create the foundation to fulfil two needs they had identified. The Foundation's mission is to 1) Develop the communication skills of youth progressing through school, tertiary education and job-seeking, and 2) Promote access to media and socially relevant content to all South Africans.
