Ali joined TEDxCapeTown in 2020. He currently works for an NGO to advocate for safer roads for children and conducts research on how this can be done as well. He has a passion in planning and building futuristic cities that are accessible to vulnerable road users. Ali completed a Masters in Transport Planning from University of Cape Town in 2018. In his spare time, Ali enjoys traveling, hiking, eating tasty food (who doesn't right?) and reading a book here and there. His favourite TED Talk is by Sir Ken Robinson, entitled "Do schools kill creativity?".
